Uncle Sam’s Third Prayer for America

Uncle Sam

As Uncle Sam I am not surprised when scum of the earth run for elections, but I am shocked when they win. After all in America we like to believe that we live in a free country, where all citizens are granted the rights to freedom of speech, and freedom of expression, as outlined within the United States Constitution. An historical demonstration of these rights of the American Individual was expressed in the 2008 U.S. presidential election process, where American voters stood in lines for long hours to cast their vote, with some standing up all night long, determined to put an end to crony capitalism, the terror of fear (disguised as fear of terror) and corruption in government. That was the first manifestation in decades of the power of the American individual voters. As once stated by my hero among all American Presidents, Franklin D. Roosevelt who stated: “Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.” And adding to this assertion, my second hero among American Presidents, Dwight David Eisenhower, who also stated that “The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter.” Unfortunately a year or so ago the United States Supreme Court Justices went out flying kites following a five-to-four vote to lift the limitation on corporate and union contributions to presidential election campaigns in the United States (which is contrary to many states laws imposing such bans on corporate contributions to running candidates). That day of infamy was January 21, 2014 when the United States Supreme Court made a decision that will change elections forever. Expressing his dismay with this decision, President Barak Obama stated the following: “With its ruling today, the Supreme Court has given a green light to a new stampede of special interest money in our politics. It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.” I couldn’t agree more with President Obama. My take on what the president said is that where “money talks nobody walks.” How can we allow Wall Street and corporate America to control the American Presidential elections? The problem is that we have had several conservative Supreme Court nominations by conservative (Republican) presidents, which were pushed through congressional approval. And now the balance among interpreters of the United States Constitution has been shifted toward conservative blind faith. In my Uncle Sam’s Third prayer for America I would like to see complete separation of the three branches of U.S. Government, and with that in mind a Supreme Court Justice replacement should be placed on the ballot for election by the American individual voting citizens. In the meantime my advice to the American voters for the Presidential election campaign of 2016 is definitely get out and vote and remember that those who don’t learn from lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.
